The Communications & Marketing Intern will support HDDC and SAGE’s external voice — helping tell the story of the corridor’s restoration through newsletters, social content, and event and program materials. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants real experience in nonprofit and community development communications, working directly with HDDC’s Program Development team.
What You’ll Do

- Draft and distribute HDDC and SAGE newsletters (Mailchimp), coordinating content and send schedules

- Capture photo, video, and written content at events, programs, and around the district for use across newsletters and social channels

- Support research for programs and communications, including partner, funder, and community context

- Help prepare materials for internal and board meetings, including drafts of board-facing documents and briefings

- Assist with social media content — drafting captions and coordinating graphics for LinkedIn and Instagram

- Support communications for SAGE Forward events and other public-facing programming
What We’re Looking For

- Strong, clear writing; comfortable adapting tone across a newsletter, a caption, and a board memo

- Organized and reliable with deadlines and recurring communications schedules

- Interest in community development, historic preservation, or nonprofit communications

- Comfortable capturing photo/video content in the field (equipment provided as needed)

- Familiarity with tools like Mailchimp, Canva, or similar a plus — not required
Program Details
